Meet the team

What have we done this term to make us feel proud?

This half term we have done lots to make ourselves and others proud. We have progressed in our phonics and can now use our sounds to write words and short sentences. We have also taken part in a whole class art project to produce two fabulous pieces of artwork inspired by ‘Togetherness’ and ‘Concentric Circles’ by Kandinsky. These are on display at the flats near our school—please go and have a look!

What we have been learning about this term

Aspirations

At the beginning of the term we learnt about people in the community that we aspire to be like. We read a story called ‘A Practical Present for Philippa Pheasant that taught us all about the importance of lollypop people in the community. We also had an exciting visit from some fireman with their fire engine! We got to learn about their jobs and all got to use the fire hose—it was brilliant. This got use thinking about what we want to do when we grow up and the skills and knowledge we would need.

Changes

During our changes Mini Adventure we have thought a lot about growing and the changes in the weather. We have enjoyed learning about what a plant needs to grow and cared for our own seeds. During Forest School, we have spent time outside using out senses and identifying different flowers such as daffodils. Our class book has been ’Jack and the Beanstalk’ and we have done lots of writing and re enacting this story using props and puppets.

RML groups have sheets or books given to the children weekly.

Buzz Books are given out on a Wednesday and expected back in school on Monday.

PE is on a Wednesday - please make sure your child has their PE kit in school and does not wear earrings.
