Governor Profiles

Nicola Rudge - Chair of Governors

I have recently been appointed Chair of Governors and have been a Governor since 2019 and Vice Chair of Governors since 2020. You may well have seen me around school in my role as an Online Safety advisor, delivering workshops and training. I have enjoyed visiting the school and getting to know the pupils as well as the hardworking staff. Before my role as an Online safety advisor, I was a primary school teacher in London, Telford, Sandwell and Walsall. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the governing body and finding out more about the running of the school and supporting Mr Pearce in all aspects of school leadership and am fully committed to supporting the school and its community as effectively as I can.

Parminder Singh Goray

As a new school governor for Chuckery Primary School I wanted to get a better understanding of how schools are run and get involved in the local community. I’m enjoying the different aspects of being a governor which involve providing oversight to ensure the school is delivering a great teaching experience for the children and resources are being used as efficiently as possible. Career wise I have worked as a Business Analyst and Management Consultant for over 10 years delivering a variety of projects for different companies. I believe the analysis and project management aspects of the role are good transferable skills for a governor position. Outside of work I enjoy meeting up with family and friends as well as quiet activities like reading and watching the latest streaming shows I am proud to be a Governor of Chuckery Primary School and hope I can make a difference.

Kate James

I’m Kate and I started as a Parent Governor for Chuckery in September 2021. I work for a local bank helping customers to have money confidence. I enjoy working with the public as every day is different! I live with my husband and our three children and am proud to have grown up in (and attended) Chuckery. My youngest son is in Year 2, my daughter is in Year 5 and my eldest is in Year 10 at Aldridge. I am keen to help the school grow its community reach. I think the more experiences children can have the better it is for their wider learning. I am excited to see the outside areas within school develop and the opportunities this offers. Please feel free to say hello when you see me on the playground

Azizul Islam

I have been a  governor at Chuckery Primary School since November 2023. I feel very proud to have my daughter attending Chuckery .

I grew up in Walsall and studied in London, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2006. I currently work as Audit Mangement Lead for a global bank. I am honoured to be a governor at Chuckery and with my understanding of finance and managment, I am expecting to contribute to the continued success of the school.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with the family, reading, travelling and watching films

Sue Knight

I became a Chuckery governor following my retirement from the school in 2023. I was a teacher at Chuckery for over 20 years and felt I couldn’t just leave the Chuckery family. In the later part of my career I was SENCO, being a strong advocate for inclusion and working in partnership with families and other professional services to enable all children to achieve their potential. As part of the management team I was able to contribute to the strategic development of the school and work alongside leaders. Prior to becoming a teacher I was an accountant in the NHS where again I was part of management teams developing paediatric, geriatric and maternity care.  My specific role on the governing body is lead governor for leadership and management where I believe I am able to utilise my prior experience to continue to support strategic development.

My retirement is not quiet! I have three children, all very grown up but still coming to mom for support and advice  ( which  I love ) and four gorgeous granddaughters ranging from 2 to 10. I look after the youngest in the week and we love to go out exploring and making lots of messy art. I have also become very grown up and joined the National Trust to explore fascinating houses and gardens.
