Meet the team

What have we done this term to make us feel proud?

This half term we have done lots to make ourselves and others proud. We have progressed in our phonics and are now writing full sentences and trying to spell lots of tricky words. In maths, we have learnt to count to 100 and explore different 2D and 3D shapes. We are all very proud of our achievements on sports day, we tried our best to take part in the races and cheer on our friends.

During the second part of the term we have become explorers and are very proud to learn about some of the places our families are from and how to great each other in different languages.

What we have been learning about this term

Under the Sea

At the beginning of the term we learnt about the vast oceans of the world and the creatures that live there. We enjoyed learning about sea pollution and how to take care of the seas. We also investigated different materials to see if they would float or sink in the ocean by making junk modelling boats and testing them out. In the outdoor area, we did some litter picking to help take care of our planet. We enjoyed learning about different parts of the ocean such as sea caves and coral reefs through reading 'The Snail and the Whale'

Explorers

During our Explorers Mini Adventure we have thought a lot about different places on earth. First we travelled to Pakistan to learn about the culture, landscape and different traditions. Next, we said 'bonjour' as we explored France and learnt all about the capital of Paris and the Eiffel Tower - it was so tall! Finally, on our adventure we have explored the continent of Africa by ready a story called 'Our Story Starts in Africa'. We learnt about the weather, animals and people that live there.

RML groups have sheets or books given to the children weekly.

Buzz Books are given out on a Wednesday and expected back in school on Monday.

PE is on a Wednesday - please make sure your child has their PE kit in school and does not wear earrings.
